We founded Green Street Social in response to our own experiences as pregnant and then new moms. Plenty of classes and communities existed virtually or in silos, but we wanted more opportunities for in-person — real — connections.

There were also so many things we wish we’d known going into labor, birth, and beyond.

So, we took our backgrounds as marketing (Megan) and HR (Olivia) leaders and created programs with relevant, engaging, and expert-led content built for women transitioning into motherhood.

The membership is evolving as we grow and receive feedback. Today, here’s what’s included in an annual membership:

• Virtual + IRL events

• Community Slack channel to connect with other local moms

• A frequently updated map showing hyperlocalized preschools, kids’ classes and activities, family-friendly restaurants, and more

• A frequently updated calendar of events for kids and families throughout the city

• Members-only discounts, promotions, and special offers from local businesses and nationwide brands.

Resources and communities for moms exist in San Francisco, mostly in the form of Facebook groups or nonprofits. By charging an annual fee, we’re able to pay:

• For speakers, facilitators, event venues, etc.

• For maintenance and backend tools we need to run the business, like Mailchimp, Squarespace, etc.

• Ourselves. We believe a lot of resources aren’t updated because these community leadership positions have historically been volunteer roles. By paying ourselves to do this work, we have the opportunity to provide you with a much better, more relevant service. Thank you for supporting our moms-founded and moms-run business!
